About this speaker
Kate Fisher is a social worker and has been working at Kids Alive in Guatemala since 2015. She works in the safeguarding team, focusing on policy and quality control. Kids Alive Guatemala provides support for children, victims of sexual violence with trauma informed care and family reintegration programs.
Kate is passionate about promoting best practice in social work in a both a child-focussed and culturally relevant way, learning alongside her Guatemalan colleagues. She is currently the child protection officer for the mission agency Latin Link in Mexico and Central America. She has previously worked in adult care in the UK, promoting service user involvement in policy development.
Kate holds an MA in Psychology from the University of St. Andrews and an MSc in Social Work from the University of Bristol.
